Of tho West Coast settlement reserves, leases of 97 sections, comprising 13,500 acres, were oifered at an upset ranging from 1/- to 7, - per acre per annum. There were 104 tenders lodged for 42 sections, comprising 4300 acres, at rents ranging from 1/6 to 12/----per acre. Competition was high for the continuous reservesKCotions, and 313') acres were taken up. In the Opunakc South block 11 Go acres wore taken up.
