THE NEW BUILDINGS.
Tho Secretary reported that .■β-too was due to tho contractors for tho new buildings. That would leave £231 in the bank on current account, besides £500 on fixed deposit. Ho believed there was also £200 in the hands of tho trustees for the children*
ward. Dr Spencer said that was correct. It was decided to paint the old buildings •when the new portions are being painted. FEMALE PATIENTS , QUARTERS. Mr Margoliouth suggested that it would be a great improvement if the additional wards now being erected were taken for tno female wards. The present females quarters woro always overcrowded. Another reason for the removal was that tho children's ward -would be in the new wing, as well as tho matron's quarters Under the arrangements ho suggested the present female ward would be taken as an overflow male ward, and that would make the male and female quarters more distinct. Mr Knowlcs and others endorsed Mr Margoliouth's views. It was decided to ask the Visiting Committee and the doctor to report on Mr Margoliouth's suggestion. MISCELLANEOUS. Mr Knowles suggested that each voucher presented should be investigated by the Committee, and after some discussion on the subject it was decided to adopt a suggestion/of Dr. Spencer, that the committee Should, at tho end of each meeting clay fix its next day of meeting so as to allow time for tho audit of tho accounts. The Secretary reported that Mr Goddard and Messrs Gilberd and Anderson had presented a number of rose-trees ; and Mr Sturm had given a very large number ot trees, &0., allowing Mr Margoliouth to select anything from his nurseries—lt was decided to thank the donors named, and to present to Mr Sturm two complimentary tickets. . , Oscar Odrcsky, warder, wrote asking for an increase of salary.—The Secretary said the doctor did not make any recommendation. The warder was appointed only two months ago.—Referred to tho doctor. The committee then adjourned.
