DEPARTURES.
September. s—Taiaroa,5 —Taiaroa, s.s., for Wellington and Dunedin. Passengers—Mrs Forbes and child, Messrs Kennedy and Taylor. 6—Maori, s.s., for Wairoa, with several passengers.
As we anticipated the Union Company's steamer Taiaroa, Capt. Parsons, arrived hero shortly after 8 o'clock last night. She was at once tendered by the steamer Sir Donald for her cargo, and by the launch Boojiun with and for the mails and passengers. The following is a report of the steamer's passage down the coast, kindly furnished by her purser :—Left Auckland at G p.m. on the 3rd instant; passed Cape Colvillo at 9 x^.sii., and arrived at Tauranga at 8 a.m. on the 4th ; left again 9.30 a.m. same date, and passed White Island at 2 p.m., East Cape at 0 p.m., and arrived at Gisbornc at 0.30 a.m. on the sth; left again at 10.30 a.m., and arrived at the anchorage as above. Experienced light westerly winds with smooth sea until leaving Gisborno, thence strong westerly wind. The Taiaroa finished transhipping her cargo to the lighter shortly after 11 o'clock, and sailed for Wellington and Duncdin at 11.30 p.m. The steamer Maori, Capt. Anderson, got away for Wairoa shortly after 12 o'clock last night, taking a few passengers and a full cargo. The launch Bella, Capt. Green, returned from Mohaka at noon to-day, with four passengers. The s.s. Kiwi, from Wellington via coastal stations, has not yet arrived, but ■will probably turn up during the night. She will discharge her cargo at the breastWork to-morrow, and at 5 p.m. will get away again for Wellington. The p.s. Manaia, Capt. Baxter, is to steam for Wairoa, with cargo and pasHcngers, at 12 o'clock to-morrow night. ' The Union Company's steamer Tc Anau, Captain McGee, was to have left Auckland at noon to-day for Southern ports and Melbourne, and should be in our roadstead by daylight on Saturday morning. She will be tendered as usual for passengers and cargo, and is announced to steam on her course at 2 p.m. the same day. For the convenience of the Gisborne football team the Union Company's steamer Tarawera, duo here from the South at about midday on Saturday, will not be leaving the bay for Northern ports until a late hour, the last launch being announced to lcavo the ■\vharf at 10 p.m.
