Tho Union Company's steamer laiaroa, 439 tons, Capt. Parsons, arrived at tho anchorage from Gisborne and Auckland at 10.30 last night-, and was at once tendered for mails and passengers by the launch Boojum, and for her cargo by the steamer Sir Donald. Tho folloAving is a record of her passage doAvn ths coast, kindly favored by Mr F. A. Weber, her purser;— Left Auckland at 8 p.m. on the 20th ; passed CapoColvillc at 11.30 p.m., the Mercurys at 3.30 p.m. on the 21st, tho East Cape at 4 p.m. on the 21st and arrived at Gisborne at 1.30 p.m. on tho 22nd; left again at 8.30 a.m. same date, passed Portland Island at 3 p.m., and arrived at the anchorage as given above. Experienced strong north-west winds Avith smooth sea until at Gisborne, thence to strong southerly gale Avith heavy sea. The Taiaroa finished transhipping her cargo into the lighter soon after 1.30 this morning, ancl got away for the South at 2 a.m. The s.s. Maori, Captain Anderson, which left for Wairoa yesterday morning, was obliged to return to port at about 2 p.m. on account of the southerly wind which sprang up soon after her departure. The topsail schooner Spray, Capt. Watch - lin, which put hi here yesterday morning for orders, sailed at 4.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland. The Union Company's s.s Southern Cross, Captain Allman, steamed on her Avay for Gisborne and Auckland at 1.30 p.m. yesterday. Sho is telegraphed as having arrived at the former port at 6.30 a.m. this day. The Union steamer Waihora, Captain Edie, Avas expected to have left Auckland at noon to-day for Southern ports and Melbourne, being duo here by daylight on Saturday morning. The steamer Kiwi, Captain James Camphell, left Wellington at 3.25 p.m. yesterday for this port, and is due lfcrc to-morroAV morning. She Avill be leaving again for AYellington at -3.30 p.-m. tlio same day.
