In tho House of Commons last night Lord E. Fitzmaurico stated, in reply to a question, that parleying avus now proceeding Avith the French Government regarding the detention of the Rev. Mr Sluiav, a British missionary, by the French authorities at Tamatave A fund has been started at the Mansion House for tho relief of the sufferers by the recent earthquake at Ischia. A private lunatic asylum at Southall, nine miles from London, avus totally destroyed: by fire last night, and live of tho inmates perished in tho flames.
