AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL SOCIETY.

COMMITTEE MIiF.TING,

The committee of the above society mot yesterday and nominated the judges and stewards for the spring , show. The committee then passed the following resolution :—" That it is the duty of the Agricultural and Pastoral Society to tako the necessary steps, by experiment, to discover the best dip for the destruction of ticks, lice, and otker parasites in sheep, and (lie best method of curing hoggets aifected by the lung-worm; and that a (aibircomniittee be appointed for the purpose of giving effect to this resolution, and report to the Society the uqijulfc; the subcommittee to consist of Messrs Coleman, Shrimpton, Fit/Roy, and the mover, and that linids for tho above purpose be obtained by a .special subscription." A general meeting of the members of the society was held on the adjournment of tho committee, when Mr Luckic's notice _of motion came on for discussion. Tho motion was as follows.—'.'To strike out all the words of the 3rd clause of tho rules of the ] 1 B.A. and l\ Society down to ' mooting' in the third line, and" to KiilwlJtiilo in hcii thereof, ' Candidates for membership shall l>o elected on the nomination of any member of the society-"' . M.'Lean. J. Elliott, H. lirwet'llcn, J. BiuneH, E. Beclf, and "Vf. H. Small.
