Mr Hcmus, o£ the Blue Ribbon Army, delivers liis third lecture in St. John'i schoolroom at 7.30 this evening. The ratepayers of Hastings meet in the Town Hall at 7.30 this evening to consider the advisability of forming a Town District Board.
Persons wishing to became members of the independent order of rechabites meet in the Oddfellow's Hall, Hastings, at 7 o'clock to-night. The Artillery and Rifle Volunteers and the Volunteer Band parade for inspection in front of the Athemeum at 7.45 to-night, after which they will be exercised in battalion drill by Major Butts. Mr Ryan sells Hobart apples and rhubarb roots by auction at his mart to-morrow at 11 a.m.
Mr Monteitli sells a quantity of clothing <md other goods by auction at the Horse Eazuar at 11.30 a.m. to-morrow, and horses, buggies, saddles, fowls, &c, at 1.30 p.m. During the winter season the Hawke's Bay Philosophical Society's room will be open to members on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 10 o'clock. The Napier Musical Society holds its first practice in St. John's schoolroom on Wednesday evening next. The Napier Amateur Dramatic Club give a performance for the benefit of the club's charitable fund on Wednesday evenmg in the Theatre Royal. , The Clive Road Board invites tenders ior metalling the Pakowhai road from the Pakowhai railway crossing , to the main road at Farndon. Mr Frank Pell has a two-roomed cottage for sale cheap for cash. . , Messr Hoadley, Lyon and Co. invite tenders for leasing the Rcdclyffe estate for a term of five years, with purchasing clause.

Dogs will bo shot, and their owners prosecuted. Mr E. Griffiths has first-class stabling accommodation at the Horse Bazaar livery and bait stables, and has buggies and saddle horses on hire.
"Joker's" consultation is on the Spring Handicap, to be run at tho forthcoming meeting. The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club invites tenders for 300 cubic yards of earth free from'stono, to be delivered on the Hastings racecourse.
J. T. Johnson, and D. Carmichael tho younger, bankrupts, will apply for orders of discharge at the first sittings of the Supreme Court to bo held in bankruptcy. Mr Alexander Browne's stock-taking sale of drapery and clothing will be continued for one week longer, at which the 3/discount iv the £1 can be obtained.

The Agricultutal and Pastoral Society invite alternative tenders for leasing the grazing (sheep only) on the socioty's grounds at Hastings for ono or five- years.
