The Union Steamship Company's s ; s. Southern Cross, Capt. Allman from Gisbomo and Auckland, arrived in the roadstead at 0.30 p.m. yesterday, and was at once tendered by the pilot boat for the inward 'Frisco mail, of which she i.s the learn , , landing , it a few minutes after 7 o'clock. The Cross was brought inside at 8.30 this morning, and was berthed at the cattle wharf, where shu discharged her cargo during the forenoon, consisting of a quantity of sawn timber and .sonic -10 tons of general goods. She was to havo taken her departure for Wellington at 3 p.m. this day. The p.s. Manaia, Capt. Baxter, steamed for Wairoa at 11 o'clock last night, taking 10 passengers and a good cargo, the Wairoa bar having been reported improving last evening. The topsail schooner Transit arrived in the bay yesterday afternoon, and was towed up to the anchorage by the steamer Sir Donald in the evening - . She i.s from New Caledonia via Auckland, having left the latter place ten days ago for Lyttelton, Jind having during some heavy weather carried away her main boom was obliged to put in here to get it replaced. Tlio new spar is expected to arrive here on Monday next by the strainer Taiaroa. The steamer Bella returned from Mohaka last night, bringing a large tripot and some other cargo. The Union Steamship ComjKiny's steamer Waihora is telegraphed as having left Auckland for Southern ports and Melbourne at 12.30 p in. yesterday, and i.s duo in our roadstead by daylight to-morrow. She will be tendered as usual by the Boojum for mails and passengers, 'and at '2 p.m. the same daj' will proceed on her passage. The steamer Maori, Captain Anderson, got away for Wairoa at a few minutes after 12 o'clock la.st night, taking a full cargo. The s.N. Sir Donald steamed for Waimarama at 11 o'clock this morning, taking a full cargo.

'flic New Zealand Shipping Company arc advised by cable of their steamers as follows :—The Fcnstanton arrived at London on July 2nd, with her meat in .splendid condition ; the British Queen arrived at I!io Janiero on Juno 2oth, the refrigerator working satisfactorily, and the incut in good condition; the Catalonia "was to leave St. Vincent on June 13fli, but owing to an interruption on the South African cable the date of her arrival ttt Ciipc Town is not, yet advised ; the British King left St. Vincent en route for Port Chalmers on July 2nd.
