CHOLERA IN EGYPT STILL SPREADING.
LONDON. July 1. It has been ascertained that tho number of lives lost by the capsize of tho ship Daphne while being launched at Clyde was much underestimated, and it is now known that 10") men were carried down by the vessel and drowned. The divers who have examined the vessel as she now lies under tho water report that the engine room is crammed with corpses. Tho cargo of 7')10 carcases of mutton shipped per steamer Feustanton are reported to bo in good condition. July 3. The Postal Committee appointed by the London Chamber of Commerce, after hearing the evidence of the various Colonial Agents-General, has decided to make an iirgeut appeal to the Chamber of Commerce at, Brisbane and Wellington with h view to promote the joining of the colonies of Queensland and New Zealand with the postal union.
