Monday. MrW. J. Trickctt, M.P. for Paddington, has been offered and has accepted a seat in the Cabinet, with the portfolio of Postmaster-General recently resigned by Mr Wright. Minister for Public Works. The Orient steamer Austral made a trip outside tho Heads to-day prior to her departure for England for refitting. A large party were on board the vessel during the run, which was pronounced to bo very satisfactory, the speed acqturcd being 15 knots. The Austral sails for Glasgow on the 4th proximo. This day.
