Auckland, This day. It is stated hero that Bishop Luck) in concert Avith the other Catholic Bishops throughout the colony, intends to prepare, and invite the Catholic laity to sign, a petition to the Assembly re the amendment of the Education Act in the direction either of payment by results Avith Government inspection, or a denominational subsidy iv tho proportion of the Catholics to the Avhole population.
