Deceased was in town for a month, and wa.-i drinking hea .'ily. Asm.URTON, This Day. The Northern express train ran into a mob of 500 sheep near Chortscy on Thursday and killed nearly forty.

An inquest ivill be held at the Ashburton Hospital to-day touching- the death of a man named Joseph. Mulligan, who was found dead iv bed at tho Chertsey Hotel.
