RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
This Day. (Before Captain Precce, R.AI.) CIVIL CASES. AVatson v. Ryder.—Claim £2S 14s, dishonored P.N. Mr Leo appoarod for tho plaintiff, and said that, notwithstanding defendant's plea of bankruptcy, he Avould take a judgment in the case. Judgment avus given accordingly, with costs £1 Bs, and solicitor's fee £2 2s. KnoAvlcs v. Gardiner.—Claim £3 7s 6d. Judgment by confession for amount claimed, Avith costs 7s, to bo paid off in instalments of 5s weekly. Several other cases brought by the same plaintiff Avere settled out of Court. Renata KaAvepo and AY. Broughton v. Ihaia Tangira and A. McCartney.—Claim £11 13s Gd, being pound fees paid under protest. This case avus adjourned from April 24th. Air Lee appeared for the plaintiffs, and Air McLean for tho defendants. Sonic argument took place between counsel as to Avhether or not. tho particulars should be amended. It Avas ultimately decided, hoAvever, to proceed with the action iv its present form. [The case avus still proceeding whon avo went to press].
