PORT OF NAPIER. ARRIVALS. April. 19—Fairy, s.s., from Poverty Bay, Whareongonga, and Mahia. 'Passenger—Mr Robson. DEPARTURES. April. 19—Maori, s.s., for Wairoa and Mahia. Passengers—Mr C. Mouteith and five others. 20—Manaia, p.s., for Wairoa. Passengers —Mr and Mrs Sloane, Messrs H. Lascelles and McMurray, and a number of natives. «, The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Mauapouri, Captain Logan, left Auckland at 3.30 p.m. yesterday for Southern ports and Melbourne, having about 30 tons of cargo on board for here. She is expected to arrive by daylight in the morning, and will be tendered as usual for inward mails, passengers, and cargo, the outward passenger-, however, will not leave the wharf until 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The steamer Maori, Capt. Anderson, got away for Wairoa and Mahia at 10 o'clock last night, taking a full cargo. The s.s. Fairy, Capt. John Campbell, returned to port about 11 o'clock last evening from Poverty Bay, which place she reports having , left on Thursday week, but moeting with heavy S.E. weather put back the same evening; made a second trial on Friday, but had to return on Saturday; finally left on the Sunday morning, worked at Whareongonga during the day shipping wool, and left the same night; passed through the Portland Island passage on Monday; shipped a passenger from the island, and after some hours steaming for Napier had to put back to Long Point, owing to the heavy southerly weather prevailing ; left Long Point at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and arrived here as above. The Union Ste'nnship Company's s.s. Te Aiiiui is to leave Wellington at 8 o'clock tonight for Northern ports, having 100 tons of cargo on board for here. She may be expected to put in an appearance in the roadstead early to-morrow afternoon, and will be taking , her departure northwards as soon after 4 p.m. as practicable. The .steamer Kiwi, Capt. James Campbell, got fuvtiy for Wellington at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and will if possible work on the coast on her way down. The p.s. Manaia, Capt. Baxter, took her departure for Wairoa at 8 o'clock this morning, taking several passengers and a good cargo. The steamer Sir Donald is loaded up for Blackhead and Waimarama, and will be leaving on the first favorable opportunity. [By Cable.] Loxdox, April 18. Arrived at Plymouth to-day, steamship Siam from Melbourne (loft March Ist). Melbourne, Thursday. Sailed, this afternoon, City of New York f<ir San Francisco via Auckland.
