Passengers — Airs Tychener and child, Airs Davis Aliss Ollivcr, Ross, Symous, J. Smith, E. Evan';, Slater, aud Lambert. The steamer Alaori. Capt. H. Anderson, returned from the Wairoa at v.30 p.m. on Thursday evening, bringing nine passengers. She is on the hard to-day being cleaned, and -will not be leaving again for the AVairoa before Tuesday CA-ening. The Union Stoaru Ship Company's s.s., Te Anau, Captain Carey, arrived in the roadstead at o o'clock this morning from Sydney via Northern ports, and Avas tendered as usual for mails passengers and cargo at about U. 30 n ,m. The following is a report of her pas iage down the coast, favored by Air James Keith, her purser : — Left Auckland at noo !i on the 22nd instant, and arrived at Gisboi tie at 2.30 p.m. on 23rd: left Gisborne s ime day at 7 p.m., and arrived at Napier as above, having experienced light variable winds and fine Aveathcr throughout. She took two passengers. The Union Company's steamer Turawern, Capt. Sinclair, arrived in the Lay at 10.30 a.m. this day, her passengers and mails being landed by the Boojum shortly after 11 o'clock. The lighters Admiral and Sir Donald attended shortly after arrival for cargo aud live stock. The following is a report of her passage kindly furnished by Air D. Dalgleish her purser :—Left Alelbourne cm the 13th at 0.30 p.m.. arrived at Hobart on the loth at 7-30 a.m. : left Hobart same day at S p.m. : arrived at the Bluff on the 10th at o a.m. : left Bluff the same day at 0.30 p.m.: arrived atlnvercargill on the '20th at o a.m.; left Jnvercargill on the 21st at o p.m. : arrived at Lyttelton on the 22nd at 7.30 a.m.; left Lyttelton the >aine day at 0.30 p.m. ; arrived at AA'cllingtoii on the 23rd at <S a.m. ; left AAV-l-lington the same day at 0.30 p.m., arriving here as above. Stilt' breeze oi' head Avinds last night, otherwise hue weather. Her outward passengers aro announced to leave the Avharf at 1 o'clock this afternoon, the Tarawera getting aAvay for Northern ports Soon afterwards. All that remains of the wreck of the Airncs Jessie is hovo up high and dry on the beach at Te Hoc fAiahia, Avhich is strcAvn Avith the timbers, bulwarks, hatchAvays, spars, and other wreckage of the illfated vessel. The only portion that remains intact is the fore part of the deck from the fore-hatch for'ard to the boAVS. containing tho Avindlass, catheads. Sec ; judging from the state of many of the timbers she must have been thoroughly uuseiAvorthy ; pieces out of her cutwater can lie picked away with thumbnail. The bodies of three of the men drowned on that occasion have never been recoA'crcd. Had she been run ashore on the sandy beach 100 yards further along, instead of on the rocks, not a soul Avould have been lost.—AVairoa Guardian.
