The local agent of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited) has received the folloAA-ing telegram from the London office, under date the 30th ultimo :— Wool.—Market unchanged. The next sales are limited to 250,000 bales, and will commence on the 20th proximo. Up to date 126,000 bales have arrived. Wheat.—Market quiet. Adelaide is worth 525, and New Zealand 15s per 4961b5. Tallow.—Market quiet. There is no Continental demand for lower and medium sorts. Mutton is worth 45s 6d, and beef -lls.Gd per cwt. Leather.—Market firmer. Best sides arc worth lid per lb. N.Z. Hemp.—Market quiet. Fine is worth £28, medium €25, and common £21 per ton. Tho Bank of England rate is i per cent.
[by cable.] London, January 30. Consols have advanced one-eighth and are quoted to-day at 102]. New Zealand securities are linn at last quotations. Adelaide wheat, ex-store, is unchanged st 50s Gd, and New Zealand ditto at -its 6d to 48s; Adelaide wheat, ex-warehouse, 31s.
