CHRISTCHURCH.
This day. At the Magistrate's Court this morning a man named William Leak was committed for trial for an indecent assault on a girl i)h years old in the circus paddock opposite the"Theatre Royal. The Acclimatisation Society distributed over 43,000 young trout during the past season. Heavy rain fell last night, but it is not calculated to do any damage to the crops. The weather is now clearing up. The weather was terrifically hot on Saturday, and a case of sunstroke in the harvest fieid is reported from Prebbletown.
