WHEREAS a vacancy having occurred in tho Council for the County of HaAvke's Bay by the resignation of John Bennett, Esq. Noav, therefore, I, George Andreav Oliver, Returning Officer for the Puketapu Riding of the County of HaAA-ko's Bay, do hereby in pursuance of '' The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876," give notice that an Election of one Councillor for the said Riding Avill be held on WEDNESDAY, the seventh day of February, 18S3 ; and I appoint WEDNESDAY, the twenty-fourth day of January, 1883, at noon, as the day, and the School-room, Puketapu, as the place for the Nomination of Candidates.
