Patoka Survey District. 11. .. 5 .. 263 10.. 131 12 G Description.—The Sections in Block XIV. and Sections 30 to 35, Block XIII., I'ohui District, are chiefly forest with a few clearings. The timber consists of liiniu, Matai, and a little White Pine. Tho formation of the ground, is undulating and well watered, the soil inclined to bo liaitt. Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, and 12 of Block 11., Patoka, 15, and 16 of Block XIII., and 8 of Block 15, I'ohui Districts, are open hilly fern land, with a little bush on Sections 11, 12, 15, and 8. Sections 1 and 2, Block VI., Patoka, open fern laud, hilly, soil light, overlying limestone formation, a small quantity of bush on each. Access is given by roads which have been partly formed, about 21- miles through the bush being cleared of timber. The Hawko's Bay County Council has in course of construction v line of road giving access to these lands from the inland Patea road, a, distance of six miles. There is also another dray road via Puketapuandßissington. The distance from Napier is about 40 miles by road. Schedule of Lands for Sale on Deferred Payments. Section 2 has a small frontage to theTaupo-road, and is bounded on one side by the Mohaka river. Sections 3 and 4 have frontage to theTaupo-road. Maungaharuru District: Fern hills and spurs on the west-em slopes of the Maungaharuru range, the soil is light, about one half of Section 2 is undulating country covered with natural grasses. Section 3is good pastoral laud. Section 4 has frontage to Taupo-road. A few clumps of bush are scattered about on Section 1. Waitara District: Open fern country, hilly. A bridle-road on the permanent grades has been formed a distance of 12 miles through the block, starting from the Tauporoad about 35 miles from Napier. Crown Lands Office, Napier, Jaai. 0, 18S3.
