January. 15—Kiwi, s.s., for Wellington and the coast. Passengers—Mrs Rcardon and child, Messrs H. Sinclair, Forstor, and Henry Coster, Warder Reardon and six prisoners. lo—Kenilworth, brigantine, for Oamaru and Pelorus Sound. Passenger—Mrs Cross. 16—Maiinia, p.s., for Wairoa, with a number of passengers. Tho brig-antinc Kemlworth, Capt. Cross, sailed yesterday afternoon in ballast for Oamaru via Peloroiis Sound. The s.s. Sir Donald, Capt. Quinlan, returned from Fairy Bay last night, with 123 bales of wool. The steamer Kiwi, Capt. Campbell, took in a quantity of general goods yesterday afternoon, besides a number of hides and 3G rams, the latter being shipped by Messrs Royse and Anderson "for 3lr Riddiford of Te Awhiti. and took her departure for Wellington via the coast at 7 o'clock last evening. The s.s. Fairy returned from the coast at 2 o'clock this morning , with a load of wool. Tho p.s. Manaia, Capt. Baxter, started for Wairoa at 3 o'clock this morning, but on getting down by the Old Man's Bluff she found the southerly wind and sea so heavy as to preclude all chance of getting into the river at Wairoa on arrival, and was compelled to put back, arriving inside again at about o o'clock. Should the weather moderate by to-night she will be leaving again at 3.30 a.m. to-morrow. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Southern Cross left Auckland last night, and is expected to arrive hero on Thursday morning l . She is announced to leave for Wellington direct at 3 p.m. on Friday. The launch Boojnm, Capt. Moloney, will bo leaving the wharf at G o'clock on Thursday morning for Wairoa.
