New Zealand securities.—Five pev cent 10-10 loan, 105: five per cent ISS9 loan, 101: four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan, 101f, The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England in notes and bullion is £10,500,000, an increase since last Thursday of £800,000. The proportion of rcscrvo to liabilities has advanced to 38 per cent. The bank rate of discount remains at 5 per cent; the market rate has advanced one-eighth, and is now 3J. "Wheat is'iuichanged. Adelaide, ex-store, 48s 6d; New Zealand ditto, 43s Gd to -16s; Adelaide flour, ex-warehouse, 335. Australian tallow, best beef 12s, and best mutton 44s Gd. Hides are dull of sale at easier rates ; heavy weights one-eighth lower. Sydxey, January 12. New Zealand wheat has fallen to Is per bushel, and New Zealand oats to 3s ; maize lias further advanced Gd per bushel, and is now worth os Gd; .sugar, Company's No. 1 pieces, per ton, £35. Adelaide, January 12. "Wheat is firm at 4s lid to os; town flour per ton £11 15s to £12, and country brands £10 10s to £10 15s. Freights to London, steamers 20s, and ditto sailing 18s ; freights on wool, greasy -M, and scoured §d. The freight market is weaker.
