The re-opening of the United Methodist Free Church in Carlyle-street, and district meeting in connection with same, takes place to-morrow, when sermons will be preached in the morning by the Rev. S. Macfarlanc, and in the evening by the Rev. R. Taylor ; a juvenile service will be held at 2.: Jo"p.m. The first dividend in the estate of Messrs Bartlett and Norman will be payable at Mr Bisson's shop, Hastings-street, between 7 aud 8 o'clock to-night. Tenders will be received up to 5 p.m. on Monday for alterations to Messrs Fortune and Black's premises in Dickens-street. Applications for the post of house surgeon to the Auckland Hospital will be received by J. 31. Clark, Esq., Auckland, up till Monday. Mr Lyndon will sell by auction on Tuesday next, at his mart, growing crops of oats and hay, besides oats, rice, and tea. The regular meeting of the Abcrcorn Lodge of Freemasons will take place at Waipawa on Thursday evening next. The new lod.Lre will be dedicated at ,'j p.m. the siimc day. The office of the Working , Men's Loan and Investment Society has been removed from the Working Men's Club to the office in Emerson-street adjoining Mr White's, where lodgments will bo received and loans granted every JMonday evening. . Tenders are invited for the work of building wool sbeci, and making additions to dwelling house and other buildings, at Wallingford. Outstanding claims against Mr R. D. Miinoy must be rendered to Mr J. Irvine, Napier, within seven days from date, or they will not be recognised. The monthly inspection of the volunteers in the Hawke's Bay district is fixed by Major Routledge to bo held on Tuesday, •23rd. instant in" front of the Athemeum, and fines for non-attendance will be enforced. Mr T. Peacock-, Riverslea, Hastings, offers £1 reward for tho recovery of a bay mare, lost on the '22nd December. Captain Garner, N.A-V., issues Battery orders anent the inspection on the 23rd instant, and convenes a meeting of the corps to be held immediately after parade. The Now Zealand "Clothing Factory and branches are now opening the balance of the summer stock of clothing, inspection of which is invited. Mr J. W. Reardeu has a four-roomed cottage in Coote road to let or for sale. Harding's Almanac for ISS3 is now published. Messrs Beck aud Co., Hastings and Clive, publish a list of new goods received per recent arrivals from the Home markets. Mr R. H. Robinson commences a sale of surplus summer stock on Monday, and will offer bargains to ensure a clearance for one mouth only. See "Wanted Known" column. Messrs Blythe and Co. wish the public to remember the cheap dress .stuffs on their tables. Messrs Hoadlcy, Lyon, and Co. invite tenders for the erection of business premises at Hastings. The Town Clerk publishes for general information the list of contracts accepted by the Municipal Council for the year 1883. The steamer Kiwi leaves for Wellington on Monday evening at G o'clock. Mr W. E. Woods, Pharmaceutical Chemist, Napier and Hastings, informs the public that owing to increase in business, he has determined to reduce his scale of charges.
