The rule for measuring the capacity of a square tank, say four feet square, and four feet deep, is as follows :. —Multiply the length by the breath, and the product by the depth, which will give the number of cubic feefc; multiply that number by 6£, which will give exactly 400 gallons as the capacity of the tank.
