December. 15— Sir Donald, s.s., for Fairy Bay. 15 —Manaia, p.s., for Wairoa with several passengere. 16 —Arawata,'s.s., for Southern ports and Melbourne. Passengers—Misses Parkinson, Wood, Aelin, Henderson, Scott, Tanner, McPhee, Parwent, Hardy, and Scruby, Mrs Parkinson and 2 children, Mr and Mrs Stone and boy, Mesdames Edgar, Hampson, Shepperd, and Hall, Masters E. Rochfort, Anglein, Joss, and Ellison, Messrs A. F. Weber, Cowie, Topic, F. A. Burgess, Clunie, Mills, McPhee, W. J. Hokena, J. Barry, W. Phillips, J. Wiggins, S. Smith, Hamond, Barker, Pieri Raie, MeKenzie, Brown, J. Mills, A. J. Morton, Stanley, and W. Small. The Union Company's steamer Arawata, Captain Tozer, arrived in the bay early this morning from Sydney and Northern ports, and was lightered of 40 tons of cargo by the ketch Three Brothers. Her outward passengers were taken out by the Boojum at 12 o'clock, and she proceeded on her voyage for Melbourne and the South at 12.55 p.m. Tbe s.s. Maori returned from Wairoa at 1 o'clock this morning, with a number of paseengers, 4 casks of whale oil, 45 sacks of maize, 20 bales of wool, and a quantity of hides and skins.
The 8.8. Sir Donald steamed for Fairy Bay last evening for wool. , The p.s. Manaia left for Wairoa last
night, ■with a fair cargo, and arrived in the river at an early hour this morning. The s.s. Southern Cross, Capt. Bernech, arrived here from Gisborne and Auckland early this morning, and was berthed inside later on at the cattle -wharf. She is to take in stock this afternoon, and will steam for Dunedin direct at 5 o'clock to-night. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Botomahana, Captain Underwood, is to leave Wellington at about 4 o'clock this afternoon, and will arrive here at 9 o'clock to-morrow morning. There is a probability of her time of departure for the north being altered to noon to-morrow, so as to enable her to work at Gisborne the same evening.
