INVERCARGILL.

December 16.

A civil action in the Supreme Court, before Mr Justice Williams, by Dr. Lewis against the Southland Times Company, damages £5000, for libel in publishing a letter, which was alleged to reflect on the doctor's professional ability and attention, was concluded last night. A verdict on all the issues was given for the defendants. The action occupied three days, and excited great interest.
