The Union Company's launch Boojum returned from Wairoa afc 5 o'clock last evening.

The steamer Maori, Captain Anderson, arrived from Wairoa at 6 o'clock last night, bringing a cargo of 150 sacks of maize. She will leave again for the same placo tomorrow night. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Southern Cross, Captain Bernech, arrived in the roadstead from Gisborne and Auckland at 8.30 o'clock last night, and was tendered by the Boojum for cargo this morning. She will ship two horses this afternoon, and her outward passengers and mails will be taken off by the launch at 5 o'clock, the Southern Cross leaving shortly afterwards for Gisborne and Auckland. On her next trip here she will probably take a cargo of cattle from this port to Dunedin.

The New Zealand Shipping Company's ship Waikato, 1021 tons register, Captain Sutherland, arrived here at an early hour this morning from Dunedin, and took up her position at the ballast ground, where she is to discharge a quantity of ballast before coming up to the anchorage. She bi'ings no cargo for this port, and is to succeed the Norman McLeod, now partially loaded, on the berth for London.

The steamer Donald, Captain Quinlan, left for Tongoio this morning, and is to return with a cargo of wool.

The p.s. Manaia is expected to get away for Wairoa at about 12 o'clock to-night, taking passengers and cargo. The Union Steamship Company's steamers Wairarapa and Botorua are due here on Saturday from Northern and Southern ports respectively, and will sail at the usual hours.
