WANGANUI.
November 1. The body of a womau, Mrs Shannon,
the wife of a foundry blacksmith, was found floating in the river this morning. It appears that the deceased left the house about 7 o'clock, and must have committed suicide by drowning shortly afterwards. She was of unsound mind, having recently been an inmate of the Mount View asylum, but had partially recovered, and was sent home in consequence.
