October 2. Judge Williams' charge to the Grand Jury in opening the Supreme Court today dwelt exhaustively on the Papakiao murder case, and no other cases on the calendar were touched on. The following sentences were passed: — Edwin
Marlow, clerk to the Union Company, for embezzlement, three years ; William Patrick Sharkey, aged 16, for horsestealing, six months; Isabella Toung, for maliciously wounding, six months. The vital statistics for the September quarter are—Births 498, deaths 168, and marriageß 97.
