and Auckland. 15 —Kiwi, s.s.j from Wellington via coastal stations.

The steamer Maori returned from Wairoa at 10.30 o'clock last nighfc, bringing several passengers, 150 sacks of maize, and a tun of whale oil. She is expected to get away again to-night for Wairoa and Mohaka. The steamer Oreti, Capt. Charles Helander, arrived here from Gisborne, Tauranga, and Auckland, at about 10 o'clock last night, having left the former place at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She was brought inside about 6 a.m. this day. and was berthed at the breastwork, where she discharged her cargo, some 20 tons, during the forenoon. Since this vessel was last here she has taken an intermediate trip to Tauranga and Gisborne, taking stock from tho latter place to Auckland. She is to leave forGisborne and Auckland at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Tho steamer Kiwi, Captain Jas. Campbell, arrived here from Wellington at 8 o'clock this morning, and was brought straight ineide and moored at the cattle wharf. She reports having left Wellington at 6 o'clock on Tuesday night; called at Glenburn, Castle Point, and Akiteo, on her way up, landing some 70 odd tons of cargo. She brings about 120 tons for this port, consisting largerly of transhipments out of the Port Glasgow, City of Tanjore, John Gambles, and the Norman McLeod. By advertisement the Kiwi leaves for Wellington direct at 4 o'clock this afternoon. The Union Company's s.s. Manapouri, Captain Logan, left Auckland yesterday at 1.30 p.m., and will arrive here at daylight in the morning. She will be tendered at *] a.m. for inward mails and passengers, those outwards for Southern ports and Melbourne being taken off at 11.30 a.m. Her cargo for this port comprises some 50 tons of general goods, which will be transferred to the lighters on arrival. We learn from Mr Hart, the agent of the Union Company, that it is raining very heavily in Wellington, so much so that the discharge of the s.s. Rotorua's cargo has been stopped, and if it does not get finer this afternoon that vessel will be unable to leave before to-morrow, tbus making it Sunday before she can put in an appearance here. Many of Captain Charles Helander's old friends will be glad to learn that that gentleman has again returned to shipping circles, this time in command of the s.s. Oreti, Captain Alexander Campbell, who previously commanded her, having been transferred to the s.s. Southern Cross.

[by cable.] Sydney, September 14. Sailed, this afternoon, Union Company's steamship Arawata for Auckland.
