PAKI PAKI RACES.

The above races took place yesterday, and was fairly attended. The weather proved fine, and the several events were well contested. Below we give the results of the different races:— HANDICAr HURDLES, Of 20 soys ; over 6 hurdles 3ft. 9in. high ; distance, 2 miles. Mr J. R. Jones' A.G., list 61b (Jones) 1 Mr W. Broughton's Ruahine, lOst 41b 2 Mr W. Douglas' Quilp, list ... 3 A.G. and Quilp cleared the first hurdle safely. Ruahine at first baulked, but got over at the second attempt. At the second hurdle all the horses baulked. A.G. was the first over, followed by Ruahine ; Quilp dropping out. Coming up the straight Ruahine made a big rush, but was unable to overhaul A.G. who won easily by a couple of lengths. HACK HURDLE KACE, Of 10 soys; H miles. Te Anau ... .".. ... 1 TeAute 2 Tidal Wave 3 Michael, Lady Mab, and Hauko also ran. This race was well contested. MAIDEN PLATE, Of 10 soys; weight, 9st; 1J miles. Mr J. R. Jones'A.G 1 Mr P. Murtagh's Tim Whiffler ... 2 Mr Smith's Gaffer Grey ... ... 3 Quilp, Repudiator, Inanga, Matoka Kiko, and Lady Mab also ran. Repudiator was a hot favorite. Won easily. PAKI PAKI HANDICAP, Of 20 soys ; If miles. Mr J. R. Jones' Prim, 7st 91b ... 1 Mr Ihaias' Never Miss, 7st 121b ... 2 Mr S. Hooper's Inanga, 6st 7lb ... 3 Mr W. Ruddick's My Dream, 9st; Mr W. Broughtou's Novelty, 6st; Mr W. Broughton's Hero, 7st 21b ; and Mr Robinson's Parawhenua, Bst 31b, also ran. In this race the favorites were Prim and My Dream. Novelty got first away, but soon got out of the race by bolting off the course. Parawhenua then led for a short distance, when he was overhauled by Hero and Never Miss, who io turn had to give way to Prim, the latter winning easily by three lengths. HURRY SCURRY, Of 6 soys, for all untrained hacks. Mr Murtagh's Tim Whiffler 1 Mr Douglas' Tiny 2 Mr Smith's Shoofly ... 3 Kuni, Wata, Wainui, Not-for-Joe, and Simpson also ran. Whilst leading the race Kuni bolted, giving the victory to Tim Whiffler.
