Passengers—Misses Carter, Black, and Long, Mesdames Bogle, Cotterill and child, E. Starkey, and Siddells, Messrs Barcourt, E. MeGmre, J. McKenzie, G. Barker, E. McGirr, A. B. Thompson, Morrison, Morton, and E. H. Lee. * The Union Stenm Ship Compnny's s.s. Arawata. Capt. Sinclair, arrived in the roadstead at 5 o'clock this morning. She reports having left Auckland af- H am. on the 15th December : arrived at Gisborne at noon on the 16th, and sailed the same day at. 6.30 p.m., arriving; here as above. Experienced fine weather throughout- the run. Her pa«seneers and mails were tendered for by the Boojum as usual, and the cargo, gome 40 ton's, by the ketch Three Brothers, ■which she will discharge at the breastwork this afternoon. The Arawata resumed her passage for Southern ports and Melbourne at 1 p.m. We have to thank Mr D. Dalgleish, her purser, .for report. The s.s. Oreti, Capt. Alexnnder Campbell, arrived here from Auckland this morning, and was brought inside and berlhed at the breastwork about 9 o'clock. She reports having left Auckland on Wednesday night, and experienced fine weather throughout the run. She brought some 30 tons of cargo for here, which was discharged during the morning. She was to have left for Wellington at about 2 o'clock this afternoon. The s.s. Sir Donald. Capt Quinlan, leaves for Blackhead and Whangaohu to-night. The s.s. Eairy leaves for Pourerere either to-night or to-morrow. The cutter Tiara leaves for Mohaka this afternoon, with a good cargo. The s.s. Maori, Captain Anderson, leaves for Wairoa early on Monday morning. The s.s. Rotomabana, Captain Thomas Underwood, was detained in Wellington owing t'i the quantity of cargo to be taken in, and does not now Icare until tonight. Fhe will be tendered by the ketches Three Brothers and Maid of the Mill, for cargo, some 170 tons, and by the Boojum for mails and passengers. The outward passengers are announced to leave the wharf at 10 a.m. to-morrow, but it will probably be later. The schooner Endeavor left Oamaru on the 14th inst. for Napier with a cargo of produce. The ship May Queen arrived yesterday from London, all well. Whilst rounding the beacon she dropped her anchor, and the cable parked. She wtis steered into the blind channel, and will be brought to her anchorage to-day. Westport, December 17. The steamer Charles Edward left. Greymouth at, 4.30 on Wednesday morning. When off Charleston a portion oF her machinery gave way. She was blown to sea, and only made the Buller this morning under sail. She was towed in. Oamabtt, December 17. Sailed, Gustave Metzler for Liverpool with a cargo of wheat. Cleared, Unicorn, with a cargo of grain, for London.
