I have examined the Samplk of M'Ewin's Bottled Alb submitted to mo, and find that it contains — Alcohol by weight, 6"40 por cent; or by volume, 655 per cent. Extractive ma*tor, 300 per cent.; Acid matter, 0"17 por cent. I have also examined tho Alb for such deleterious ingredients as are sometimes r.dded to Beer, and have found no indication of their presence. The three first conditions laid down by tho Committee for Winks and Bbehb for tho late International Exhibition, as those to which especial prominence would be piven, were—lst, Low alcoholic per centage : 2nd, Freedom from acidity ; 3rd Absence of fusel oil; and all these ire fulfilled in th sample.
