MELBOURNE.

December 16

A cricket match between the English team and eleven of Victoria was commenced to-day. The weather was very fine, and a capital wicket was pitched, the ground being in good order. The Victorians went in first, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had jut together 247 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Macdonnell made 51, and Blackhara 66. The bowling and fielding of the Englishmen were much admired.
