The New Zealand Loan aud Mercantile Agency reports, under date London, 6th December, that the wool competition is decreasing, and the market is weaker. The demand on French account sluggish. Superior greasy has declined ,d to Id per lb. To date 96,000 bnles have been sold. The sales close on the 10th instant. The wheat market is quiet; Adelaide and New Zealand are worth 50s per 496 lbs. The tallow market is easier ; best mutton, £40 per ton, and best beef £37 per ton. The leather, hides, and basils market is drooping ; the arrivals are heavy; best sides are worth per lb.

fBY CABLE.] London, December 6. Three per cent consols have declined onehalf, and are quoted to-day at 99L New Zealand securities have an upward tendency. The five per cent 10-40 loan has advanced 1 per cent to 105, the five per cent 1889 loan is unchanged at 104, and the four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan has also advanced 1 per cent to 100f. Colonial breadstuffs are unchanged. Adelaide wheat, ex-warehouse, 56s ; New Zeaditte, 52s ; Adelaide flour, ex-store, 41s 6d. Australian tallow remains at last quotations. Best beef, 37s 6d; Kst mutton, 40s 6d. Best Scotch pig iron has advanced 2s per per ton. No. 1, f.o.b. in Clyde, 545. December 7. Consols have advanced one-quarter to 99£. New Zealand securities and colonial breadstuffs remain at yesterday's quotations. Australian tallow has advanced Is per cwt, and best beef is quoted at 38s 6d, and best mutton at 41s 6d.
