ARRIVALS. November. 14_ Columbia, schooner, from Auckland.
DEPARTURES. November.
14—Fairy, s.s., for Mahia. 15—Maori, s.s., for Wairoa, with fourteen passengers. «. The schooner Columbia, Capfc.G. Conway, arrived here yesterday evening, and was brought inside this morning. She left Auckland on Thursday last, and experienced fresh westerly weather as far as East Cape, from thence light and variable. She brings a load of drain pipes consigned to Mr H. E. Gunn, but will be unable to get a berth to discharge for a day or two. The s.s. Fairy, Capt. J. Campbell, left for Mahia last night with a small general cargo. The s.s. Maori, Capt. H. Anderson, left for Wairoa at about five o'clock this morning, with a good cargo, and a large number of passengers, whose names we were unable to ascertain. ! The s.s. Result's departure for Wairoa has been postponed until about two o'clock to-morrow morning. The Union Company's s.s. Boojum is to leave for Wairoa to-morrow morning. The cargo ex the Union Company's s.s. Albion was discharged at the cattle wharf this morning by the s.s. Sir Donald. The brigantine Endeavor, Capt. J. Dick, was towed inside by the s.s. Sir Donald about 6 o'clock this morning and moored at the breastwork, where she has commenced to discharge her cargo of produce. The brigantine Eliza and Mary is still outside waiting for a berth to be vacated. The s.s. Sir Donald, Capt. J. Quinlan, is loading up for Blackhead to-day, and will leave this evening. The topsail schooner Kenilworth is to leave Oamaru for here to-day. The steamer Kiwi is to leave Wellington to-night, and may be expected to arrive here on Thursday. The s.s. Oreti, Captain r Campbell. is expected to arrive here from Southern ports to-morrow morning. Captain Baxter, of the s.s. Besult, received a telegram this morning from Wairoa stating that the bar was still very bad, but that the Maoris were employed to-day in trying to open a channel. Tho want of greater wharfage accommodation is much felt just now. The inside harbor is completely blocked, and three large vessels are lying in idleness unable to get a berth owing to there being insufficient water for them to extend far up the breastwork. The Merchant Shipping and Underwriter's Association report the arrival of the ships Halcione from Auckland (sailed August 7), Remington from Lyttelton (Augiist 4), Clyde from Bluff (August 4), and Opawa from Lyttelton (August 25). Mebbourne, November 14. Arrived, this evening, P. and O. Company's steamer Rohilla, with the Engliah mails via Suez and Brindisi, dated London, October 7. Adelaide, November 14. The Orient Company's steamer Cuzco, which left Plymouth on October 1 arrived here this morning.
