SYDNEY.
November 3. Two fresh cases of small-pox have been reported to the Board of Health. Nothing has yet been heard of the missing steamer Balclutba or of the barque Ombra bound from Batavia to Melbourne, wreckage from which vessel was seen at Cape Three Pointa last week. A steamer has now been despatched from this port in search of the missing vessels. November 4.
The report of Mr Julian Palamons, Q.C., the Royal Commissioner appointed to enquire into the Milburn Creek cdpper mine affair, has been issued. It finds that Messrs Garnet (sic), Waddell, and Russell were guilty of bribery and corruption, and further that a sum of £4500 was appropriated by Mr Baker, formerly Minister of Mines, and Messrs Waddell, and Mathison. Mr Garrett has demanded, and Sir Henry Parkes, the Premier, has promised, to institute a further enquiry. The report of the Commissioner has created a great sensation here.
