(PROM OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.) Opunake, November 4. The Wellington Engineers, Rifles, Guards, and the Wairarapa volunteers were landed yesterday morning, and marched for Rahotu at one o'clock. On landing Doctors Diver and Watts, who accompanied them, were informed that no more doctors were required. This matter will doubtless be fully enquired into. As usual- the volunteers left the store at Wellington half equipped, a general complaint being made by tbem of the management. They have only a ball bag to carry forty rounds of ammunition.
By an advertisement in the Taranaki Harald, Colonel Roberts, stops traffice on the road between Opunake and Stoney River to-day and to-morrow. Mr Northcroft, R.M., has reported at Pungarehu. The Wellington contingent march at 1 p.m. for Rahotu, headed by the Guards band. The Native Minister, accompanied by forty of the Taranaki Mounted Rifles, visited Parihaka yesterday, stayed a few minutes, and then returued. Fifty Marlborough volunteers were landed to-day.
