The second horse to receive 200 soys, and the third 100 soys out of the Btake. 2 miles. (120 subs). Mr C. M'DonneH's blk c Zulu, 4 yrs, by Barbarian—Maiden Blush, sst -71b ... ... ... ... ... 1 Mr J. Morrison's br h The Czar, 4 yrs, by Marquis—Dagmar, 7st 91b 2 Mr T. Ivory's b h Sweetmeat, 6 yrs, By Tatterdon—Sultana, 9st ... 3 Wellington, Savanaka, First Water, Sir Modred, Suwarrow, Lord Burleigh, Odd Trick, Waterloo, Bathurst, Canary, Wandering Jew, Trump Yobs, Darebin, Pawnbroker, Bandalbion, Wheatear, Somnus, Orient, PoHio, Guinea, Carmen, Waxy, Greyhound, Santa Claus, Duchess, Tbe Cockney, and Oxalia also ran. Somnus cut out the running for the first three-quarters of a mile, followed by Santa Claus and Zulu. At tbreeqnarterß of a mile from home Zulu took the lead, and was never caught, winning by two lengths. Time, 2mins. 32£ sees. The members of the betting ring win considerably by Zulu's victory.
