Public Notice. TO THE ELECTORS AND INHABITANTS OP NAPIER AND SURROUNDING DISTRICTS. Ladies and Gentlemen— _ I take this early opportunity of announcing my return from Markets. Having personally selected a CHOICE STOCK OF NEW SPRING GOODS, together with a large parcel of Men's, Youths , and Boys Clothing of a superior quality, all ot_ whicli MUST BE CLEARED OUT AT ONCE, Regardless of Cost. This I'm compelled to do, as I hare been advised by this mail of a Large Stock of CJPRLNG AND SUMMER GOODS, 0 specially selected for me in Glasgow, London and Manufacturing districts, and shipped per the Peninsular and Onental mail steamer which left London on the 29th July. These Goods I did not expect for two months yet; but as they are coming by Mail Steamer, should arrive here ma week or so. This will make my Stock much larger than it ought to be : consequently I must clear out the New Goods I have^ ]usfc opened up, at extraordinary LOW PRICES. All my new Prints will be cleared out at 6d, Bd, and lOd, worth from 2d to 4d per yard more. All my new Dress Goods will be cleared out at 6d, Bd, lOd, and ls ; worth. 4d to 6d per yard more. All Wool Dress Goods will be cleared at ls, ls 3d, and ls 6d ; well worth 2s 6d A few Ladies' Costumes very cheap. Large stock of Ladies' and Children's Underclothing, Skirts, and Corsets, the best value ever offered in Napier. Children's Erooks, Pellises, Blouses^ Sun Hats, etc., very Cheap. Recent political events must, I think, have served to point unmistakably to the necessity in this community of Some base for united and concerted action being taken by ita members on leading questions, That necessity is one that I hold to be of pilmary importance—let tho shade of individual opinions differ as it may on minor matters.
