■Messrs TT. Monteith and Co., report:— At our sale of horses at Hastings on Friday we submitted 25 head to competition. These were a very useful l>~t of heavy, medium, and light draught colts and fillies, bred by T. P. Bussell, v sq.. of Woburn. The wellknown pood qualities of this breed brought forward a good attendance of buyers, and elicited brisk competition, the whole being quickly disposed of at prices ranging from £16 to £38, the average price being £23 per head. At otrr annual sale of exhibits on the Society's show grounds, the following were disposed of :—On aeconnt of A. Jones, Esq : Three-furrow plough, £25; double do, £19 ; tip dray, £21; three sets harrows. £7 1 Of, £5 10s, and £5 10s ; and a number of other implements from his champion collection. •'n account of G. New Zealand securities.—Five per cent. 10-40 loan, 10l£ ; five per cent. 1889 loan, 104J ; four and a half per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 98*. Adelaide wheat, ex-store, is quoted at 57s per 496 lbs., a decline of Is, and New Zealand whpat has also fallen Is, and is now quoted at 555, ex store. Adelaide flour remains at 42s per 280 lbs., ex-warehouse. Pest c cotch pig iron, No. 1, freo on board in Clyde, 535. October 13. Consols remain at 98j. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £9,875,000. The bank rate remains at 5 per cent., and the market rate at 4>\. New Zealand securities are -without quotable change. There is no change to report in the market of Australian breadstuffb. *■ ustralian tallow, best beef 41s 6d, and best mutton 455. Stdwbt, Ootober 14. Ajjelaidb, Ootober 14. Wheat is quoted at 5s sd, with no business doing. Town flour, per ton, £12 ss, and country brands £11 10s to £1115s. Freights to the (Jnited Kingdom ; from Adelaide 455, ditto from the out ports 47s 6d.
