SPORT ING NOTES.
(By Battle Axb.) A fine morning and the prospect of plenty of good galloping attracted a large number of people to trie course. I wag oil the course at 4.45. Edwards and Munn had worked their teams. Wheeler sent Morning Star and My Dream; they went slowly for half a mile, and thea they went at a good pace for 1£ milee, both horses moving well. Martin sent Mischief and Mavis twice round the plough at a good gallop; Mischief seemed to have the best of it at the finish, Angler was sent twice round, a back accompanying him. Proffet sent Badsworth t canter for a mile, and then he galloped home a mile. Merlin and Louie were sent twice round at a good pace. the latter pleasing me very much. Foul - t Play cantered once round, the Squire [ accompanying him the last time round at a racing pace, the old horse having the best of the youngster at the finish. I expect Walters' horses would work after breakfast. I believe Ruseell's were doing a quiet trial up at Longlands. Many other horses exercised, but their doings were not worthy of notice. In Monday's paper I will give my final tips.
