These Goods I did nut expect for two months yefc ; but as they are coming by Mail Steamer, should arrive herein a week or so. This will make my Stock much larger than it ought to be : consequently I must clear out the New Goods I hare just opened up, at extraordinary LOW PRICES. A Bye-Law to further regulate the Licensing and Management of Slaughter Houses and Abbatoirs, and the inspection thereof, and of. cattle intended for slaughter in the County of Hawke's Bay. In pursuance of "The Counties Act, 1876, "and "The Slaughter Houses Act, 1877," the County Council of Hawke's Bay do order as follows, that ia to say— 1. Interpretation—Section number 1 of Bye-law No. 4 shall be deemed to apply to all bye-laws and regulations under "The Slaughter Houses Act, 1877," 2. It shall be deemed to be a condition upon which any Licenco to keep a Slaughter-house is issued, that the holder thereof shall keep a book wherein shall be entered the foil Dames of all servants from time to time employed in such licensed Slaughter-house, and the entry of each servants'name shall be signed by such servant; such book shall be produced to the Inspector upon demand.—lf. any such holder shall enter into the said book the nime of any person not lonafide hia servant, or omit to enter therein the name of any servant or shall permit any person not bonaflde hia servant, to slaughter in his Licensed Slaughter-house he shall forfeit and pay for each offence any sum not exceeding £5. 3. No cattle shall be slaughtered on Sundays in any A bbaltoir, except during the hours of 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. On all other days every Abbatoir shall be kept open during the hours hereinafter specified for the slaughtering of cattle therein, and for skinning and dressing the carcases of the cattle so slaughtered, such hours shall bo from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. 4. no portion of any animal shall be delivered or removed from any abbatoir after 10 o'clock p,m. 5. No cattle to be left in the yards longer than 48 hours. 6. Piga tiken for slaughter shall not remain longer than 48 hours in sty prepared for them. No pigs intended to be killed will be permitted to be fed in the sty, yard, or precincts of the slaughter-yard. 7. No hides are to be removed before inspection which inspection -must be done 24 houre_ from slaughtering unless the Inspector shall deem it advisable for the proper carrying out of " The Slaughter House Act, 1&77,' that the hide or hides should remain on the premises for such further period as to him may seem fit. ; 8. "Whoever shall wilfully destroy or damage any of the property appertaining to the Slaughter-yard, house, or premises, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding £5 over and above the amount of damage done. '8. Any person who shall violate or fail to absei ye. any rules, matters, or things laid down in these byelaws, or shall do that which he is not entitled or allowed to do under the authority of these by j-lawa shall be deemed guilty of an cflence, and for each such offence shall forfeit and pay any sum not exceeding Five pounds.
