MR. W. C. SMITH AS A CANDIDATE.

[To the Editor of tho Daily Telegraph.] Sir,—l would ask " Another Woodvillian" if he is so blind or so stupid that he cannot see that Mr W. C. Smith, having no interest at stake in the Seventymile Bush (or anywhere else that I know ot) cannot have any real sympathy or interest in common with the settlers here. He has been trying for some time past to get County money expended in the bush, not from any disinterested motive, as his candidature now shows, but for the express purpose of getting votes to gratify his political ambition. May our Couuty be saved from all such. Wo'odvillians beware of schemers, and rather trust those whose interests are identified with your own.—l am, &c, '■ Woodville. September 30, 1881.
