WOOLLEN FACTORY.

[To the Editor of the Dai__ Te_e_b_p_..] Sir,- I see that a large meeting was held at Oamaru for tbe purpose of starting a woollen factory, and more than the required number of chares were applied for. How is it that the Southerners takes the wind out of the Northerners sails? Is there a vacuum in the hearts of tbe Northerners which requires to be filled with enterprise md liberality ? In my opinion there is, aud a very strong vacuum. Now is the time, when money is cheap and plentiful, to go in and win, because there is no such word as fail where snch golden opportunities offer as the natural resources of Hawke's Bay.— I am, &c, G. Ellis. Napier, September 28, 1881.
