POLITICAL NEWS.
[bt telegraph.] (fbom our own correspondent.) Wellington, September 13. An indication that the session 13 drawing to a close was furnished yesterday by the departure from the capital of several members of Parliament. The s.s. Rotomahana yesterday afternoon took away among others the Hon. Mr ftichardson and family, Mr Vincent Pyke, Mr Montgomery, and Mr All wrighfc. There was a petition presented to the Legislative Council yesterday from 13G2 residents of the city and provincial district of Nelson praying that the Bepresentation Bill be not allowed to become law. After the defeat of the Government on the amendment proposed by Sir George Grey, providing " that no elector shall, in respect of this or any other Act, vote for more than two electorates," the probability is that the Government will now withdraw the Representation Bill altogether.
