LONDON.
September 5. At the wool sale to-day 10,200 bales were catalogued. A fair demand was experienced. The Morning Post to-day publishes a telegram from Paris stating that M. Roustan, the French Resident at Tunis, has sent a despatch to hia Government informing it that the Bey is acting under the orders of the Sultan of Turkey in supporting and inciting the Arab tribes to rebel against French authority. M. Roustan is further reported to have .urged that the deposition of the Bey and the occupation of Tunis by the French are absolutely necessary in order to bring about a settlement of the present disorder in the country.
, The report published by the Morning Post: to-day, that M. Roustan, the French Resident at Tunis, had urged his Government to depose the Bey and occupy Tunis, ie now fully denied.
Sir Charles Dilke, the Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, is now in Paris, where he is conferring with M. Tirard, the Minister of Commerce, in regard to Anglo-French commercial relations.
