THE MUNICIPAL NUISANCE.
[To the Editor of the Daily Telkqbapk.] SrR, —Iβ there no power to compel the municipal body to take steps to abate the vile nuisance caused by the so-called drainage work on Shakeepeare-road ? Tit community ought immediately to move in this matter, and have a thorough remedy applied before the summer comes on. The local board of health ought to attend to the health of the town or resign, and the inspector of nuisances, should be directed to institute a strict investigation about all the houses on the Shakespeare hill side with a view to prerent offensive matter being let into the drain. Ordinary refuse water could not in so short a time create such an abomi* nation.—l am, &c, ~ A Resident. August 5, 1881.
