WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL.
THIS DAY.
Present: All the members except Cr. White. CORRESPONDENCE. From Henry Arrow, asking for a grantuity for five years services as clerk to the Licensing Bench. £50 was voted, providing it can be legally granted. From A. H. Ross, resigning the position of County Surveyor. Accepted. From C. Remlose, re incorrect statements made by the road overseer re excessive pay of contractor who finished work. Agreed that he be informed the overseer acts on instructions from the Council. From A. T. Arrow, asking that a sulvert be run through his property, section 16. Request complied with. A claim was read from Mr Herbert for timber, &c", supplied' The matter was referred to the road overseer. A petition was read from six residents of the Blackburn district asking for a I public pound to be erected. PETITIONS. I A petition signed by 26 residents objecting to it was also presented. Both were postponed for consideration. poundkeeper's returns. It was agreed that all poundkeepers" should be informed that quarterly returns should be regularly made.—-(Own correspondent.)
