July 29. The Irish Land Bill came up for its third reading in the House of Commons last night, A few of the extreme Tory

members forced a division, which resulted in the bill being read a third time and passed by 220 to 14 amidst much enthusiasm. The House of Lords sat specially to receive the bill from the House of Commons, and at 11 p.m. read the measure a first time.

It is announced that Rear-Admiral the Earl of Clanwilliam has been raised to the rank of Vice-Admiral.
