LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Friday, The Council met at 2.30 p.m. BANKS AND BANKERS BILL. The Banks and Bankers Bill was, on a division of 15 to 13, ordered to be recommitted next week in order to strike out the clauses relating to penalties for defacing bank notes. BILLS PASSED. The Hawke's Bay and Marlborough Rivers Act Amendment Bill, the Land Claims Settlement Act Repeal Bill, and the Sharebrokers Act Repeal Bill were read a third time and passed.
